Montana
Manning
Elway
Brady
Those are my top four in no particular order i feel you are splitting hairs picking one over the other
my 5 would be Marino but i would easily take any of those four over him
Base your rankings on who you would want to start a team with.

1) Johnny U- Will Always be the Greatest

2) Aaron Rodgers- This seems high but the dud can do everything and is athletic on top of it. Montana had an all star team with him and doesn't have the arm talent (especially not strength) of Rodgers.

3) Bart Starr- Dude is the definition of a winner. I know I have a few old timey QB's but there is no reason to think their domination wouldn't continue to todays pass happy league

4) Joe Montana- He is amazing in a West Coast system and I love him as a QB, but in all honestly he is overrated as the consensus top QB ever. Rice made him look good and was a better player overall.

5) Peyton Manning - People always say Brady is better, but he has had a better coach and a better team throughout both of their careers. Brady may have shown more success in the playoffs, but with Manning in Denver I can see that easily turning around.

I know Aaron Rodgers is high but he is just that good. Him on a different team that actually has talent (Niners, Ravens, Broncos, Seahawks, Texans) would be absolute domination.

With 50 years of watching the NFL here are the Top 5 I've had the pleasure to watch:

Elway

Marino

Unitas

Montana

Staubach

I have not included any active players but Brady and Peyton Manning could certain be under consideration once their careers are done.

Montana - Nobody was ever better in the playoffs.

Peyton Manning - 9 playoffs in a row (nobody has made half that), 4 MVP's - most ever, most wins of any QB in a decade, most completions to a receiver, winning in least offensive time ever (under 15 minutes), most consecutive regular season wins, biggest AFC championship comeback ever, won a Super Bowl with lowest ranked defense ever, 4 touchdowns in the last 4 minutes of a game, and the list goes on and on

Tom Brady - 3 Super Bowl titles, his super low interception rate, and his ability to evade defenders with just 1 or 2 steps

Drew Brees - The guy is just amazing throwing the deep pass. He even went into Foxboro and just destroyed Brady and the Patriots back in 2009, the last time they played each other.

Now it comes down to a really tough pick. Here I have to go with either Unitas or Marino. I put Brees in because I think he was a little better than Marino. And of course you want to put at least one old school guy in. And I think Unitas fits well. Some of Unitas's records still hang in there decades later. To me, that says a lot. The same goes with some of Marino's records.

And one I think deserves honorary mention: Steve Young. I don't think Steve Young gets the true consideration he deserves. He was an awesome quarterback.

I like Elway and his strong passes. But if you look at his stats, they don't compare with the likes of Manning, Brees, Brady or Montana or even Marino. I think sometimes Elway is given too much credit because of his 2 Super Bowl titles.

How is Peyton Manning number 2? Winning one super bowl when you threw 3 touchdowns and 7 INT's in the postseason is nothing to be proud of especially when you had 2 HOF receivers to throw the ball too.

1. Tom Brady

2. Joe Montana

3. Johnny Unitas

4. Brett Favre

5. John Elway

Lol Chalise how was Moss in Oakland? He would of never been a HOF if it wasn't for Brady who helped him break that TD record. Welker was also a nobody before Brady. Hernandez was a back-up who didn't even have 400 receiving yards last year. Ocho? LOL what are you talking about. I don't know any QB who has palyed with more HOF receivers then Peyton Harrison, Wayne, Welker, Thomas, Decker maybe? Marshall Faulk for running back? you gotta be kidding me. Brady's top receiver for 6 years was Troy Brown and he won 3 rings and if you think Brady has better receivers then Peyton now then you need to get a reality check girl. You probably can't even name our starters. By week 1 Donald Jones and Danny Amendola will be starting if healthy with Jake Ballard at tight end. Who would you rather have Donald Jones as your starter or DT and Wes welker? If Brady manages to win even 8 games this year then he's a lock for the best ever. He lost 4 out of his 5 most targeted receivers from last year.

He lost Welker, Lloyd, Hernandez, Gronk (injury), Woodhead, Branch, and Stallworth let's give the man some respect here. Peyton has always had a security blanket for his whole career he's never had to face challenges like Brady.

Chalise come on now? a 5-11 record isn't a playoff caliber team that's what Brady took over. Peyton took over a 3-13 team and made them 3-13 again the next season. he was nothing without coaching and new receivers. In 2009 Peyton took a team with Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark to the playoffs you seem to not mention the great players and only mention the ones who had minor parts in the process. And Garcon is a starter now with the redskins hmm I guess Peyton never did make him. Luck had a QB rating of 76 and still won 11 games with a roster that was much worse then the ones peyton manning has had in his years at Indy. Brady went to the super bowl with a 31st ranked defense the great ones can pull it off buddy but I guess Peyton isn't great then huh?

I'm only 19 so this is based off what I grew up watching

Peyton Manning- Smartest qb I've ever seen period and his impact that he has on teams and organizations . Never seen a player that made that much of a difference to a team

Aaron Rodgers- best passing qb I've ever seen. Soo accurate and on the money not to mention he has a strong arm. If he had Peyton's Brain he would be the best ever

Kurt Warner- underrated qb great passers. led one of the best offenses in NFL History

Tommy- LOL I don't like him but I can't leave him out. Very poise in the pocket great field general

Drew Brees- Very accurate has a nice touch on balls

I left Farve off. Most overrated qb of all time IMO

LOL at DK. It amazes me how you always claim Peyton had great receivers but fail to forget that there is more to football then just an offense. You can have a great offense and all but there is more to winning a championship then just a great offense . Ironically Your Patriots and Tom Brady are in the same situation since they have had the best offense the past couple of years. They also have the best no huddle offense in the league with a stud TE when Healthy Gronkowski, A reliable slot receiver (Welker) A murderer but talented TE( Hernandez) one of the best receivers to play the game (Moss) and lets not forget Ochoncino. But they have yet to win a championship with such a high octane offense. Need I say more? :)

DK: OMG. buddy are you Kidding me! Peyton was drafted into a LOSING organization lets be clear. He help turn that organization into a winning , playoff caliber team and eventual Super Bowl Champs. Sure he had Wayne , Clark, Harrison, Stokley but who was on the other side of the ball. Like I said before you fail to forget that there is more to football then just an offense . Dungy IMO is overrated and conservative . Manning had one his best seasons in 2009 the year Dungy left and made the Superbowl with receivers such as Austin Collie and Pierre Garçon. The Colts always rank near dead last in their years with Manning because they are a Passing team . Ironically the year Manning won his Super Bowl his defense helped him out and somewhat carried him. Brady had the benefit to play for a team that was already a playoff caliber team buddy and a team with a good defense .
