Question:
Why isn't Thursday Night Football shown on national television, but instead on the NFL channel?

I mean, it's not like there's 10 games that are being played at the same time like on Sunday, but only 1 game and come on it's NFL Football, so why don't they just show it on national television. I don't care if the game is bad or good, but if they're going to show one game on a Thursday, you'd figured it be televised nationally, instead of being the NFL channel which I bet a lot of us don't have or probably have to pay extra for.

If they can show a game on Monday Night then why not on Thursday night, and remember Thanksgiving day when they showed three games, the best game with the best match up was the night game with Giants vs Broncos and that was shown on the NFL channel, seriously it's not Pay-Per-View or anything. What do you think? I'm just a big NFL footfall guy that loves football.

Money. They want NFL fans to complain to their cable providers demanding they carry the NFL network.

The NFL network is a national network just like ESPN. If it were not for The NFL network broadcasting the Thursday night game there wouldn't even be a Thursday night game. It's the NFL's way of saying, "get the NFL Network."

I doubt it. The whole reason for Thursday Night Football on the NFL network is so it can be aired on Direct TV (aka as a way to make $$$)

They want to make more money because they have a direct contract with DirecTV which has sole ownership of NFL Network so they want to help out DirecTV as a favor so they want to promote people to get DirecTV if they want to watch Football on Thursdays. But if you want to watch the game wait till it's about to start and you can watch it here for free in HD Live.

That's NFL's site so it's legitimate.

It's their last way to get you to buy the NFL Network. They give you in-depth analysis, replay the games, show historical moments and if you don't care for any of that, then they go for the kill by putting a high rated game onto their network...
