Question:
Miami Dolphins in need of a new logo?

I checked the proverbial record books in Yahoo! Answers and about two years ago some fans were asking for answers if the Dolphins should change the logo.

The gist of some of their questions were this:
♦ some fans wanted the goofy (in their opinion) helmet removed from the Dolphin.
♦ some wanted the teal color removed altogether with navy replacing the teal as one of their primary colors.
♦ some fans wanted everything unchanged with their 1997 'redo' when the hashmarks were omitted from the coral (orange) Sunburst and when the Dolphin's mouth/eyes were tweaked to show a mean Dolphin.

Two years later this question returns for a number of reasons:

♣ They got trounced by the Pats on their turf in, some say, unlucky teal blue. Rumor has it that the Dolphins feel lucky in their coral/orange shirts the way the Cowboys prefer their white shirts.

♣ The Rams did not start winning back when they were in bright primary blue and primary yellow. They started winning with Warner and Bruce (of course) but by then they tweaked to gold and blue.

♣ We all recall how bad (in recent memory only) the Patriots were before they changed their logo from "Pat Patriot" to the logo we see now on their silver hats. "Pat" was on a white helmet btw.

Case for change:
Lots of teams have tweaked colors and logos. Ultimately it's up to Miami's fans and the Dolphins' owners and shareholders for obvious reasons but feel free to toss in your two cents. Rest assured, Miami probably has dozens if not hundreds of professional marketing gurus and graphic designers skilled in Adobe CreativeSuite to really fire up the fanbase with some sharp, professional logo options. Loyal and disgruntled fans might welcome the change!

Some reasons to change phrased with question:

♠ Miami and Jacksonville both share teal as one of their primary colors. Why not Miami drop the teal for another contrasting color to the coral/orange?

♠ Incorporate the coral-orange "M" by removing it from that tiny helmet atop the Dolphin into a more significant juxtaposition with the Dolphin. Nix the outdated helmet?

♠ You don't see Detroit's logo with a helmet atop their lion, nor do the Falcons have their bird donning a helmet. You could admit a Dolphin wearing a helmet makes as much sense as a fish on a bicycle. In other words: putting a helmet on it is grievous obviousness like uttering "We are the Miami Football Dolphins....grunt grunt we are tough!". Do you look tough with a helmet-donning Dolphin?

♠ Dolphins are amazingly athletic sea mammals: explore other imagery in how they move! In other words dolphins do more than just jump out of the ocean through a hoop of a-la-Sea World! Heck dolphins can kill sharks for crying out loud! LOL.

FYI: Asker is not a fan of Miami nor do I dislike the Dolphins rather as a graphic designer I see lots of potential for a nice, subtle change to make Dolphin fans proud!

I don't mind the Dolphins logo. I think they need to worry about a new....... everything else after last night. Changing Logo's doesn't ever make a difference in attendence, or record. Remember the Lions changing their logo. Yes they got more wins the next year but only because they had zero the year before. The only way to "make Dolphins fans proud" Is to beat the Pats, the Jets, and the Bills (a tad easier than the other two) and win the division.

A) From a picture layout attitude it exhibits attempt via the franchise to enhance their form/photograph. B) I certainly have not seen ANY respected helmet pictures yet (outdoors of "unofficial" renderings in Google/Yahoo) yet while the hot dolphin is larger than the older dolphin, it may emote a superb reaction for the followers seated interior the stadium, from a visibility-attitude. (I asked this dazzling comparable question and that i gave the suited answer to the guy who highlighted how the hot emblem places the dolphin on a parallel airplane visually. that's no longer conducive to a donning motif and definitely grants a loss of 'circulate'.) That pronounced, sure i like it: that's an improve from the cheesy helmet-donning dolphin that may not be taken heavily. As a picture dressmaker i could grant to the layout team to tilt/rotate their dolphin with a view to place it on an aggressive line (place) to emote aggressiveness/forward circulate.

what the dolphins need is a real QB.this hemme guy really sucks. we got very good receivers and very good running backs. our defense is very good when the offense plays well.but with out a good QB to lead the team they will never get no where.if only we had a Michael Vick kind of QB one who moves, scranbles and can throw we would be kicking some @ss right now. it would be nice if they did change the colors to a navy blue jersey just like that deep blue sea.

Forget the Logo; that should be the LEAST of their concerns. What they need to concentrate on is getting a new kicker and revamping that Special Teams.

After Monday night's fiasco they might want to change their logo to a steamroller on top of a bunch of dolphin tails.

Miami doesn't use teal... it is a green... Teal is for the Jags
