Why is Troy Aikman in the Hall of Fame?

Because he was a great player and won 3 super bowls as a QB. Personally, I think Collins was just as good. He took a terrible Giants team to the super bowl. But that's the way the game is played. Statistically there are very few QBs as good as Drew Bledsoe, plus he played on terrible teams in terrible weather. Fair? No.

He led cowboys to 3 superbowl championships. Winning percentage is very high, and he was a good teammate.

He deserves to be in the HOF but If it weren't for those 3 titles there's no way he'd be in the HOF. He only threw over 20 touchdowns in a season once, and it's not because throwing wasn't as developed back then because you had Marino throwing 47 touchdowns at that time. So maybe he was a good leader but guess what so is tebow. Are we throwing tebow in the hall of fame? No. Oh god I hope not. But he's the most overrated QB of all time so yeah.

Because his team won 3 SBs, and everyone always wants to credit everything to the QB.

I love this question because at the end it makes the asker look like an idiot.

There are qualities that Hall of Fame QB usually has and are not measured by stats, here are some that Aikman possessed:

1) Mechanics: Troy Aikman was the most mechanically sound QB of his era.

2) Decision making: A QB that always took what the defense gave him and rarely put the team on bad situations. Not a bunch of comebacks because of this, but Aikman delivered when needed

3) Toughness: 10 concussions and never played less than 11 games in a season.

4) Accuracy: One of the most accurate passers I've ever seen.

5) Intelligence: Aikman ran an offensive system focused of maximizing Emmitt's presence, and ran it as well that Emmitt became the all time leading rusher. This is a team sport and you can not separate Aikman-Emmitt-Irvin when talking about each player's greatness. Aikman is the example of player who made his teammates play better.

6) Clutch: Several times outplayed Hall of Famers Brett Favre, Steve Young and Jim Kelly on QB duels. Threw 4 TD against the Bills and was named the Super Bowl MVP in January 1993.

All the above are a few reasons why Troy is in the Hall of Fame.

Collins sucks, never put Collins and Aikman in the same sentence.

Did Collins win any Super Bowls? Troy has had more memorable playoff games did Collins.
