i mean come on he is the only 3 time MVP, He is about ot break all of Marinos passing records. He has had success with mediocer recivers. ( Look at what happend to Freeman when he left GB.) he is going to be the winningest QB All time after this year ( the pack will win at least 2 they arn't THAT bad.) i mean come on people show Favre some love he deserves it.

People who say Brett Favre is overrated are out of their minds. Whoever thinks he's overrated knows nothing about football and should not have the privilege to watch American football at all. Brett is EASILY in the top 5 of all time QBs. He is a legend who goes all out every game and wins his way. His presence in the great of football will be sorely missed after his retirement.

They are both! And for people to say that he is good, then that he needs to be on a better team, better go and give themselves some Chinese water torcher.

Favre is truly in a league all of his own. For a guy who will be 38 this year, he still can hold his own.

After being vocal this weekend about how upset he was when the Pack didn't sign Moss and that he requested a trade, was unsettling. I knew that he was just venting...he would never leave Green Bay. If he were to leave (AND HE IS NOT), can you imagine how the ticket sales would go down, and Lambeau field wouldn't make enough money. Since the city owns The Packers, they would more then likely lose some cash.

Now, Favre doesn't really have anyone to throw too. I am glad that Green is gone (butter fingers, he had a hard time hanging on the ball, and he can do that in Houston now), do you think Morency is ready to earn his status as a starter.

I do think the team needs to start listening to Favre, and worry about siging some decent people. As for breaking records, well, we will see what this year will bring. They will be a club with 500--and still not make the playoffs, and then Favre will retire.

GO PACK GO!!!

I've come to the realization that people who bash Favre really haven't watched him play. They say crap that he is too old. But he's the same age as Trent Green and nobody says anything about the Chiefs trying to trade him. Everyone is talking how great Jeff Garcia is and teams wanted him as a starter, he's the same age as Favre. Last season with a better line and team his INTs were down and I saw him make plays that other QBs still couldn't pull off. He plays with heart and seeing him put Driver on his shoulders just shows how much love he has for the game and how much fun he's having. I've noticed that Bears fans show him a lot of respect because they know he's a special player. People who bash him really don't watch him and see that he's still a good player. I think they're sick of all the media hype. Madden kissing his butt, all the junk after every season about if he's gonna retire. All this Moss stuff. To me, it's no big deal, but the media plays it up so bad that people get sick of hearing about Favre. So they bash him.

I am a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and since I've started watching football I enjoyed watching Aikman, Smith, and Irvin score touchdowns and win huge football game. But there is something special about watching Favre play. Maybe it a mixture of his true talent and his love for the game. He is an amazing football player and if he doesn't win another Super Bowl, at least he has one to his name. I don't think anyone should critized him for wanting Green Bay to bring in more talent for him. Favre wants to win football games and if you have a rooster full of players who have only been playing for a year or two, that's not going to happen. Besides bringing in veterns can help teach your younger players what to do. I do agree with the comment that I think Moss would have benefited by playing with Favre and I think his attitude would have changed. I don't think he's overrated, I think he is a man who is doing something that he loves. One day we'll see his name in the Hall of Fame.

well considering that his rating has been Brett Favre "can win you win the game" at any time by john Madden when the Pathetic Pack are losing and the subsequent result is typically a loss by the Pack when they aren't playing a weak opponent, I'd say that qualifies as overrated, at least the last few seasons.

The only teams with winning records they have beaten in their last 33 games are Week 17 wins against teams that had already clinched Broncos, Seahawks and Bears who were all resting their starters and not taking the game seriously. That means not one single quality victory in over 2 years.

Cause he is. He's never been the best qb during the times that he has played throughout his career he may be one of the top 10 qb's in each of those years but he isn't that special. The mvps are a joke he didn't deserve them. Give me Montana, Young, Marino, Aikman,Petyon, Manning, Namath, Unitas,Moon,Elway,... Before I would even consider Brett Favre the most overrated football player of all time. Whoever says that he's top 5 you're only kidding yourselves. He's not even in the top 15 of all time. Favre should have retired a long time ago and it's sad to say but he's only playing trying to break Marino's record hopefully this will be the year he'll get injured and decide to hang it up for good.

My husband has been a GB fan since he was 5. He's taught me more about Favre than I care to know about anyone! I am a fan of another team, but this guy has more heart and a love for the game then I can compare to any other quaterback in the league! The fact that GB has refused to surround him with players talent is of no fault of his. Give him a defense that will play with as much heart as his and he will do well! Maybe he should play for another team that will use his talents instead of wasting them!!!

I would say people are being ignorant or they have no knowledge what so ever as to what Favre has done. As a 49er fan I hated the years we went to Lambeau and could not beat him until that miracle year in SF =)... I still remember the time when GB could not lose at home at all during the playoffs

Yes they are, come on people, he is Bret Favre! Earlier in his career, he made statements like that and everyone was behind him saying he is a great leader. Now they say he is trouble. In Packerland, Bret is fourth, behind God, Bart and Vince (not in order of course. I do believe Packers fans lead off each prayer with Oh Heavenly Father Bart Starr). I honestly think if the Pack would have gotten Moss, Randy attitude would have changed for the better. There is just something about Favre, that makes you play beyond your means.

You also forgot the fact that he hasn't missed a game in 200 some odd starts and has played at a high level consistantly over that time with below average talent for at least 50 of them. If he had the kind of recievers Manning had the year he broke the single season TD record he would have 500 touchdowns by now.

Actually no.....Most of us football fans hate to see a good player play past there prime and then just fizzle out, or not play at the caliber that they once did. Should Brett have retired this year , yes..I personally think he should have listed to his daughter and retired a few years back....Lets be honest he ain't what he useed to be, and if he does get hurt he will be hurt bad, when your that age you sure don't heal fast...I hate watcheing players stay in the leauge so long that people foget what they have done, and what they were to the game.....So as I said the answer to your questin is NO we are not!!

Id say both. Brett Favre is my favorite QB of all the time. He is amazing for his age, people need to cut him some slack.

Brett is indeed one of the best ever. If Ted Thompson was half the GM Ron Wolf was, this team would be much better, Go Pack Go!

he was really good..now his hail mary passes that he chucks up people cant catch..thats all he was..a lucky qb..he isnt the best of all time and shouldnt get mad at GB for looking towards their future instead of right now..realizing even if they looked to right now he isnt good enough to lead them to a superbowl victory..he should just retire already cause i am sick of hearing year after year the questions of whether he will come back or not..who cares..all he has done in the past years is 8-8 tops

I wouldn't say the best qb ever, but in the top 10 or maybe even top 5 of all time.

If you were talking about the old Brett Favre then I would say they are both, but the new Brett Favre is just flat out sorry. He throws almost as many or as many INT's as he does TD's. He's not all that great.

Both, He's a great qb but he's past his prime. He's not overrated just overhyped in the media at this point in his career

I think its a shame that Favre didn't know when to retire. There would be none of this overrated talk if he knew when his time was up. He has accomplished a lot though.
