It just adds to what everyone already knows about Belichick having no class.

I think that they had to snap the ball to officially put the Giants in possession of the ball. Rules are rules and just because Belichick walks off the field because he for some reason couldn't bear to watch his team lose, and because everyone stormed the field doesn't mean that the game shouldn't be played according to the rules. Why does everyone celebrate before a game is final? It would have been easier to finish then celebrate. If I knew Belichick personally I would be very ashamed that I did know him.

Belichick walked over and gave Coughlin a friggin' hug! Then he walked off the field! So he showed his respect to the Giants who outplayed a better team and to the coach who out-coached him. When he ran out on the field everyone else was doing the same thing. Everyone thought the game was over. Yeah he was told that there was still time on the clock but that was after he hugged Coughlin. What do you want him to do? Turn around and do it all over again? Eli being a little prick and forcing the Chargers to make that trade is more of a disgrace. That little twit hid behind his father while Daddy declared to the world that the Mannings are above everyone else and can do what they want. Screw the Mannings! I cannot wait to see the GMen crash and burn next year and Eli "Permanent Manning Face" Manning come back down to earth. On a side note, I LOVE that they won the championship the year after Tiki left. YOU SUCK TIKI!!!

Umm tushster21, I recall that after last years AFC Championship lots of Patriots players went out of their way to congradulate Peyton for finally getting over the hump. After the Superbowl every player said that the Giants deserved to win the game. The Patriots show more respect to their opponents than any other team in the league. This is clear in the preparation and work they put into each week regardless of who they are playing.

Who cares... 1 second left and a meaningless kneeldown. A kneeldown with 1 second left is the most meaningless move in sports. Nothing could have happened to change the game. Even if by some crazy twilight zone fumble of the snap where the Pats recover, they had no chance of taking it back like 80 yards without being touched. I'm not even a Pats fan, and I admit that the pats do show a lack of class sometimes, but Bellicheck still went to Coughlin and the Giants coaching staff and congratulated them, and he still participated in the post-game interview while keeping his cool and answering the questions. Some of the stuff beign said just isn't fair.

I agree with Wendy C. Rules are there for everyone to follow. When you put on a uniform, or headset, you agree to abide by the rules of the game. Rules that have been put in place to create equal playing grounds, to keep intact the integrity of the game. Walking out before the game is officially over is a lack of integrity, a sign of low class, and what I would expect from Belichick.

The refs clearly told him the game was not over and yet he ran off the field. Bill is a baby, and a cheat.

Honestly, I think it's the most arrogant thing any professional athlete/coach can do. The game isn't officially over, and knowing they lost, they don't give a care about their opponent. Only Tom Coughlin walked across the field to congratulate Tom Coughlin. Even after the game, you didn't see any Patriot walk across the field to shake hands/congratulate any Giant. What I hate is, when the Patriots lose, they don't respect their opponents. However, when the Patriots win, they expect to be given all the respect in the world. With that kind of mindset, they don't deserve any kind of respect at all.

This isn't college. It's the pros so don't confuse the two.

And, again, it's an issue of class and integrity (and heck of following the rules of football). He failed all the tests. You don't leave your team on the field and head to the locker room.

We'll see how hot the seat gets if the Pats are found to have video-taped the Rams final walk-through. Maybe the hypocrites will come out in force and say that all teams do it (which of course, isn't the case).

Not sure on this. I was disappointed to see it....but this kind of thing happens in EVERY other sport. When was the last time the NBA cleared everybody off the court at the end of a game after it was decided, because there was 1-2 seconds left? Does it really hurt anything to LET that last second tick harmlessly off the clock?

It appeared that BB had shaken Tom Caughlin's hand before he left.

I'm not going to turn this into a complete rant. You're welcome. :-)

When is the last time he DID follow league rules? He made the Patriots proud didn't he? He just gave the fans more reasons to make excuses. I wonder if he knows the meaning of unsportsman like. Disgrace is an understatement!

We all have proof that he's a cheater and we now have proof he has no class, we all knew this stuff before to. Belichick is a disgraceful, no class, low down, dirty little cheater who thinks just because he wins all the time with a team anyone could win with, he's above everyone else and can do anything. SCREW HIM AND HIS DAMN PATRIOTS!!!!!! THAT INCLUDES YOU BRADY GO F*** YOURSELF AND YOU TO BELICHICK GO F*** YOURSELF!!!!

Well honestly why is it ok for a college football coach to run out in the field with ten seconds left in the game after that same kind of incident and it be ok. the game was over there is no use in playing that last second. he just wanted to get the hell out of there. i mean really. dont say it is not class. im sure if the pats were killing them and had the ball with 15 seconds left, ny coach would have done the same.
