a case against HOF honors for bledsoe

his td to int ratio is 1.2-1, his career accuracy is 57%, career QB rating is 77...

a case for HOF honors for bledsoe

7th all time passing yards, 5th all time completions, 13th all time TDs

While his compilation career stats are impressive, his overall performance has been at best highly serviceable.

In my humble opinion Drew Bledsoe is/was a good quarterback who will be best served not to be discussed as one of the all time greats (hall of fame worthy). He was too good of a teamate, leader, and understood the team first mentality, even when it was to his own detriment. He should be remembered fondly, but not immortalized. The discussion of his enshrinement to the HOF will only darkly shade his accomplishments. He deserves better then that.

Bledsoe won a superbowl ring... all be it he wasn't starting... He did still come back during the championship game when Brady got sidelined. Yes if he can find a team and start and have another decent few years. Hes still only 35. I don't know why some teams like the Browns arent jumping on him... I think the Cowboys would have been better off sticking with Bledsoe...The Tuna betrayed him after all these years. And he hardly ever gets injured (ironic how a little injury lost his starting job to Brady)and takes A LOT of hits. I think he has a shot. But you have to look at QBs during his time period. He really needs to play a few more years for a good shot.

I think with his time as a Pat he was already a possible low tier hall o' famer.. Now? Id say without a question he should make the hall of fame at some point. Hes one of the 'marino guys'..

Great stats, plenty of good years, and an overall large winning record, its a shame so many people will infact go to the hall of fame before him.

His career stats may be similar to some of the hall of famers of past, but lets put him up against his peers of today. His ability to stay healthy has allowed him a long career, since 93, but has never been the guy. He has been good, not great. He isnt in the top ten career for any of the major stats if my memory serves me, and has never won the big one. He was the back up on the big one once, but the Pats probably wouldnt have been there with him. just a thought

Im not a fan of bledsoe but I think his stats are definetly good enough to get him into the Hall of fame.

7th alltime Passing yards. (44,611)

13th All time Passing TD's. (251)

5th All time Completions. (3,389)

These number are still gonna go up

Nope he's unlikely in to the corridor. additionally evaluate that he suggested he hated Sundays. heavily the guy might have been sturdy if he might have truly had his coronary heart interior the sport. i do no longer care the place he's with stats. they are in certainty meaningless, it truly is approximately what people think of of you. people do no longer remember Bledsoe has a precise 10 QB. call 3 people who know the historical past of QBs that record Bledsoe interior the precise 10, heck record some that record him interior the precise 20.

yeah, he was very good in the 90's. he led the pats to 2 super bowls as a starter, but did not start in the 2nd one after brady had an impressive run as a rookie when bledsoe got injured. bledsoe did start in super bowl 31, against #1 defense in rank of the packers. on top of that, the packers were #1 on offense and special teams, and there was a lot of pressure on him. his stats and his achievements should earn him a spot in the hall of fame.

nah, didnt do enough in the playoffs

plus a hall of fame guy doesnt ever lose his job..twice unless he gets hurt or something

let me ask you this though:

If tom brady does not get as good career stats as bledsoe, who would you rather put in the hall?

there's your answer

I think he is. He set many Patriot records when he played for New England. He deserves a place in the Hall even though he didnt win a ring himself. Brady did it for him!!

his statistics are impressive enough to get him to the hall of fame and he technically was in 2 super bowls he was a backup in 2001 and lost in 1996.

I definitely think so. He was one of the best in his prime, and still is no slouch. He was Tom Brady's' mentor. He has always handled himself well even under scrutiny.... and I'm a Dolphins fan!!

No, solid QB, seems like a good guy, but not HOF material. HOF is reserved for throat cutters like OJ.
