This was traditional for so long, New Years Day, we all gathered in front of the American tv to eat, drink and recover from New Years Eve, watching The Rose Parade followed by several college football games, Rose Bowl, Sugar Bowl, etc...

Now, The Rose Bowl is not until the 4th and there are games all day Monday the 2nd, when only priveleged folks are off from work.

Why???

Because the NFL is on that day. The NFL won't compete with NCAA and vice-versa. There will once again be Bowl Games on New Year's Day 2007.

It's on Sunday and the Broadcast networks are obligated to cover those. They try to have as little competition between the NFL and the NCAA as possible.
