Alot of sport journalists are saying that the Oakland Raiders have a good chance of making the playoffs this year, and what about the Kansas City Chiefs who've been getting some positive offseason reviews or the Miami Dolphins by getting Brandon Marshall and Karlos Dansby...
Do you think any of these teams will get into the playoffs this year or in the next couple of seasons?

Look I can't see The Raiders doing it after loosing JaMarcus Russel. The Chiefs as previously stated bearly completed 50% of there passes last year so no to them. The Dolphins are growing and I really think they will make it so no to Raiders and Chiefs and yes to Dolphins.
Surprise Teams:
Atlanta Falcons
Miami Dolphins
Chicago Bears
Seattle Seahawks
Denver Broncos

The Oakland Raiders picked up QB Jason Cambell from the Washington Redskins in the off-season this year. He will play a very important role as the offencive leader for the Raiders. WR's Luis Murphy and Darius Hayward-Bay must catch the ball more often, and runningback Darren Mcfadden will also get involved in the silver and black attack this year. There defense has been getting much better over the past few seasons. But I say the Raiders will fall short of the play-offs this year, I see them winning 8 games. The Chiefs really need time to rebuild before they can even think about the post season. WR Chris Chambers will play a key go-to guy for the offense, as will young RB Jamal Charles. Their defense needs much improvement. I can see the Dolphins making the post-season this year though. They have an emerging QB in Chad Henne and they picked up star WR Brandon Marshall who I think will have a monster season. Ronnie Brown, Ricky Williams, and second year QB Pat White will play a big part of the Wild cat offence. The defense is young, they brought in LB Karlos Dansby in the offseason. But to tell you the truth, I would watch the Houston Texans and the Atlanta Falcons to make at least a wildcard spot in the postseason.
Hope this helped (:

I believe the Dolphins will get a wild card berth legitimately.. the others are based on preseason moves in rebuilding stages, I don't see the Raiders gelling anytime soon as there is a lot of unrest to be calmed down and the individual players need to be brought together as a team, this won't happen under Al Davis' ownership I believe.. the Chiefs have some talented receivers but just lost Engram and Cassel never really found his stride after New England.. I don't see their running game or defense picking up this year and after having two of the worst records the last two years I don't see them turning it around anytime soon because of those two factors.
The Dolphins are only one year removed from an excellent division winning season something that the other two teams cannot say.. they were a legit contender last year but unfortunately were injury plagued.. the only question this year is if Pennington will play or if Henne will.. The Dolphins don't have much superstars, but their team gels together well and they support each other.. I am not a Dolphin fan but for a team without a lot of big names they play like they have them and that's why I was kind of following their run last year, especially wen it looked like they would make it to the playoffs

The Miami Dolphins have an outside chance at getting a wildcard spot and I actually picked them to do that. But the Chiefs and the Raiders are still years away from being legitimate and consistent contenders. The Chiefs and Raiders don't only have on the field problems with personel and team chemistry, their problems start at the top with ownership, general management and work their way down. No team can succeed if the players on the field aren't backed up by secure front offices, and those teams aren't.

i might say the Texans out of those communities. they have an quite good offense and basically could strengthen protection and particular communities slightly. The Browns have some good beginning for the destiny, yet they are actually not somewhat waiting for the playoffs. they even have an quite hard branch with the Steelers and Ravens. The Jaguars choose influxes on each part of the ball. They basically approximately made it this 12 months yet basically by using injuries the Colts had. The Lions have been given lots greater advantageous this 12 months, yet are nonetheless slightly away. in the event that they are in a position to get some consistent well being and play interior the QB place, they could make it. they could conflict with the Packers and Bears however.

I don't think any of these teams can get in the playoffs. Probably just too late and there are many other teams closer to the 6th place. Then win-loss-draw record also gets in the way, with Miami being 2 wins away from Baltimore. Maybe this question is for the 2011 season?

Realistically, I can see only Miami getting in.
Realistically, I can see the Raiders moving to another market within 3-5 years. I hear New York is looking for an NFL franchise that can play in CitiField. The Jets and Giants are both in NJ. There is a market here for a 3rd team. I can see that getting done.

Well, dumping Jamarcus Russel certainly won't hurt the Raiders. The guy barely completed 50% of his passes and had way too many interceptions. KC... well they put too much stock into Matt Cassell. I mean, who couldn't put up good numbers throwing to Randy Moss and Wes Welker? (Besides Jamarcus?) Miami is good, no doubt about that but they are in a tough division.

out of these three teams i would say the only team with a good chance of making the playoffs is the dolphins

out of those 3 the only one i think that has the talent to get in is Miami... however they do play in a pretty difficult division, so they are far from a sure-shot.
but sports analysts like to make bold predictions, because if you get a bold prediction right people remember that; they don't remember all the bold predictions they got wrong

You have to have a winning regular season in order to make the playoffs.

Miami maybe, and that is a maybe since they'll be 3rd in their own division.
Oakland and KC? No chance.
