At this point we are probably more likely to see an NFL team in London than anywhere in Canada. The league is actually looking to move a franchise to London by 2021 and have been pushing the Jags to get on board for a few years now although the Bucs would be a more logical choice considering the teams ties to Manchester United. The ten years of games in the International Series have been a major exploratory move by the NFL to see what if any logistic feasibility exists for a team to move permanently to London. You'll notice that the number of International Series games has been slowly increasing every few years with four games being played internationally this year (three in London). With the logistics already in place to play three games in London, it's not a huge stretch to move up to a full regular season schedule with one team in London. It's a bit different considering the eight teams that will play in the International Series this year will only play one game each, instead of one team playing a full home schedule, but it is still within the range of possibilities considering what is in place already.

Were it not for the CFL I believe that there would already be an NFL team in Canada. The CFL has teams in Montreal and Toronto -- the 2 cities that were awarded MLB teams -- and just about every other major metropolitan area houses a CFL team.
There's really no room for an NFL franchise.

No. The NFL has agreed to never put a franchise in Canada. To do so would cause the CFL to go out of business. The two leagues discussed this, and the NFL does not want the CFL to shut down. Meanwhile, the CFL is still exploring the possibility of a tenth team, either in Halifax, Moncton, or possibly playing in both cities.

No, Mingle. It is called the National Football League, not the Continental Football League. Although the NFL is looking into London and Europe, it is for the MONEY. If the NFL thought there was money to the North, they would already been entrenched. I think the NFL sees the CFL as kind of a minor league where they can pick up some players.

As long as the CFL exists Canada will never have an NFL team.
There was talk several years ago that the CFL was having financial trouble and the NFL was considering buying them out and using the CFL as an developmental league for the NFL. Have not heard this brought up recently though.

No. They are too smart for that kind of barbarism. Northern people tend to be more cerebral. This is why I went a music school in the St. Lawrence Valley. No football team - no marching band. An end to the torture I was put through in high school in Pennsylvania. Sousaphones suck. Marching bands suck. Football sucks.

No. They have their own league where the players who couldn't make the NFL go to play. The National Football League should stay strictly national.

They already have a CFL so that would be weird.
They may have basketball and baseball teams, but they don't have their own league for either of those so it doesn't conflict.
CFL has a bunch of different rules, too, such as only 3 downs.

Half the players on NFL teams now couldn't cross the border due to criminal records.

I do hope though that the NFL expands. I mean it is called the NATIONAL football league. It isn't yet however. Should've stuck with American football league as the name.
