OSU is ranked 12th! USC only dropped to 9 after osing TO AN UNRANKED OPPENENT. OSU has been winning like mad since their loss, and have only moved 1 or 2 spots up the rankings.

1) OSU is an average football team with one high profile player , a defense that is mediocre on its best day, and an offense that struggled against Purdue which, I believe, is statistically the worst defense in the Big 10. This team is probably ranked too high at 12. The Big 10 is also a below average conference at best this year.

2) Unimpressive victories over mediocre or below average teams (such as Purdue) are not impressive. The voters are reflecting this in their rankings.

3) USC is ranked higher and dropped lower after their loss because the people that rank the teams have come to the conclusion that USC is a better football team than Ohio State. This probably has something to do with the drubbing that the Buckeyes received from the Trojans.

4) If Ohio State wins the Big 10 they will earn a spot in a BCS bowl game. They have virtually no chance to earn a spot in the BCS Championship because other one loss teams are almost a guaranteed lock to rank higher in the final BCS poll. To claim unjustice because Ohio State is being scammed displays poor sportsmanship, a lack of understanding about how the BCS works, or both.

5) If Ohio State somehow finds a way to beat Penn State you will see a jump in the rankings. However, if Ohio State loses this game they will drop like a rock. Prepare yourself for that possibility.

It's time to step back and try to take a realistic look at what the Buckeyes are this year. They are a good team. That's it. There's nothing wrong with being a good team.

OSU is ranked ahead of LSU and I would guarantee, even with the rookie QB and the loss of so many good players last year, LSU would work OSU AGAIN if they faced off anywhere at all.

And, LSU isn't even close to the best team in the SEC this year.

Don't even get me started talking about what people like OU, Texas, Mizz would do to OSU.

Thank your lucky stars if that is your team that they likely won't have to be embarassed yet again. Maybe they will draw a little bowl somewhere and play some no name team they can actually beat.

I am so tired of OSU and USC. Until they can step on the NATIONAL stage and play some class opponents more than the maybe one game per year, they are both just jokes and the same for the conferences.

What Rose Bowl? Should be the Pansy Bowl.

Buckeyes have had 2 opportunities in a row and lost. I'm a Sooner fan and the same happened to us with LSU and So. Cal. It's going to take a lot of convincing on the field in a weak conference for the BCS to give the Buckeyes a third shot in a row.

They're much improved with Pryor and they probably got shortchanged a bit in the rankings but I don't think they deserve a shot at the title. They still have a lot to prove in order to take it away from Penn St. in the Big 10. Hell, I don't even know if the Nittany Lions deserve a shot quite yet having faced subpar competition in the battered Big 10.

In the same way, USC hasn't earned a shot having to face subpar competition in the Pac 10.

I'd like to see a Big 12 vs. SEC showdown in a majority of those bowl games...including the national title game.

osu hasnt beaten a good team this year.they are way over ranked. plus, they really should put there other QB in some during the game. pryor will not take them to a bcs game this year. now if osu can score a offensive td then maybe we can put them in the top 25. they are at #12 because of there name. wisconsin is ok, but not good.

They still have a chance, but have a lot to do to get there. First, they have to win out. Second, they have to show a vastly improved offense, and better line play on both sides of the ball. And third, they need to pray that both a Big 12 and SEC team don't go undefeated, and USC loses one more game. All possible, but improbable. Go BUCKS!!!!!!!!!

And when you lose to Penn State, you'll start saying "we should be still considered, two loss LSU got in afterall", but after losing to Illinois, you might start saying "well, I hope we can at least make the Rose Bowl so we can get our asses handed to us by USC again".

The scam was that they got into the BCS title game the last couple of years. Nice performance.
