Question:
So why do the Jets stand a chance again?

Well it looks like we have headed into the playoffs with our team battered and with a crap record like its 2009. It looks like most Charger fans think the Jets are the second coming of the Ravens 2000 SB team lmfao.

I'm going to list every single reason why the Chargers will win.

Lets break down this almighty fraud #1 Jets defense.
Leonhard is alright, but he isn't exceptional. Rhodes can't cover a TE nor is he a play maker. Eric Smith is a liability and if he is in, Rivers should target him.

The godly Revis as some of you like to call him can shutdown players. But then again Rivers has seen the best of the best CBs this league has to offer this season so its not like he should tremble at the thought of Revis. Revis isn't even a ball hawk. I'll break down his picks for you. One against Gradkowski, one at Brady in his 2nd game back, 2 floaters from Jake 'the pick machine' Delhomme, One against Fitzpatrick and the last one against Freeman. Whoa, what a ball hawk hey? He has only seen one physical WR this whole season. Now if he shut down Fitz or Boldin then I would worry. But Jackson has been shutdown from the Philly game to the Browns game. Yet we won and even put up blowouts with VJ not playing his best or getting his. The Steelers game doesn't count as VJ getting shut down due to the O line not being in sync that early in the season so Rivers was under duress. So Revis is a non factor even if he takes VJ out of the game. If Jets fans want to bring up the Bengals game, Palmer made poor poor throws, including that pick to Revis. Rivers won't do that. The only pick Rivers would give away is if he forces the same pick he gave Newman. That rarely if ever happens.

Now that I dedicated a paragraph to the all mighty Revis, I'll break down the rest of their team. They have Calvin Pace who is one of the upper echelon OLB's in this league. Across from him is? No one. He plays Suggs role from last year. Marques Douglas is nothing special at DE. They lost Jenkins so they're susceptible to the run. Look what Benson did! Shaun Ellis is a solid player like Leonhard. Their ILBs are great but they can't cover the TE. Gates won't have an issue with them. Gates was a factor against a better LB corp in Pitt last year. So no worries here. The Jets only have 32 sacks on the season. Whereas even the Chargers who have little pass rush have 35. The Chargers have a better secondary. The Jets have no one across Revis. Sheppard has stunk it up as a Jet. Lowery is nothing special.

Their pass defense is inflated with an easy schedule and an array of the leagues most horrible passers. Yet with this weak schedule they couldn't get more then 32 sacks. They're not a true #1 defense either. They're not suffocating. Palmer wasn't under duress that much, he made poor throws and has played like crap for the entire season anyway. Look at the Packers, they got destroyed being the #2 defense and they have a NT! Also a defense that is comparable in most ways to the Jets and they have more talent at each position then the Jets. Lets talk about pressure. The Chargers haven't let Rivers get rushed since the O line has become in sync since the first loss to the Broncos. They played the Cowboys, Eagles, Redskins, Dolphins, Broncos and Raiders who were all in the top 15 in sacks. Also the Steelers, again the O line wasn't in sync at that time. Rivers had all day to pick those teams apart. The Jets don't compare. Rivers has too many weapons and the protection needed to handle the Jets.

Now lets look at the running game of the Jets. Again, they faced some horrible competition which inflated their rushing stats. The Jets only faced the Bengals, Patriots twice, Titans, Texans and Falcons who were ranked in the top 15 in run defense. Wow what amazing competition. The Falcons shut the Jets down completely with an undersized D line and injured defense. Oh my goodness! Jason Snelling from the Falcons with 59 yards was the leading rusher that game. The Titans with Collins at the helm shut them down on their 0-7 losing streak, amazing! Mark Sanchez had to break some scrambles to make their rushing attack look half way decent against the 21st ranked run defense of the Saints. The Patriots in their first game let the Jets only get 100 yards in their first meeting which was a loss. The Patriots allowed Thomas Jones to get 103 yards in their second meeting and won and that is about all the rush yards the Jets got. The Texans gave up big yardage, but they have no defense really. The Bengals got smoked but they lost 1/4 of their defense to injury.

Sanchez has 20 ints. He gets flustered. He even has a good O line which is inexcusable. He tied Stafford who had a horrible O line for 2nd in ints in the NFL. Only Cutler beat them out with 26. I don't buy that he is playing well. They just didn't have to ask him to pass yet. They will come Sunday. Now that should calm all this talk about how great the Jets were. They just got an easy schedule, a reeling

D-Millio spelled it out for you already. I forgot the Saints D had to score twice for the Saints to beat the Jets 24-10.

All I have to say about Sanchez is he did what Favre couldn't do. He got the Jets into the playoffs and won a playoff game. And that's not bad for any rookie on any team.

I really think the Jets are gonna do it this weekend. And if they beat the Bolts, I don't see any reason they won't make it to the Super Bowl.

You don't have to agree with me, but I read all your ****, so if you actually want to be a fair sports fan give me the same courtesy I did to you, and even though we have different opinions I hope you can at least realize that the Jets aren't a team to sneeze at.

For one, all your points revolve around the idea that the Jets played a weak schedule, but the records of the Jets' and Chargers' opponents are virtually identical. (Chargers' opponents are 136-140 and the Jets opponents are 137-139)

The Chargers are a great team and have an explosive offense, but the Jets match up extremely well with them, and the Chargers also got away with playing in maybe the second weakest divison in the NFL, especially after the Broncos started to nosedive.

The Chargers focus is their #5 passing offense, but the Jets have the #1 pass defense in the NFL, and shut down the #1 (Texans), #2 (Colts), #3 (Pats) and #4 (Saints) passing attacks in the NFL, so they've proven consistently that they can play big against big opponents. Even though they only played the Colts starters for one half, its stil impressive.

The Chargers do have a bunch of weapons that are straight up matchup problems, mainly Vincent Jackson and Antonio Gates, but if they can't run the ball Rex Ryan will have no problem using nickel and dime packages all game and use creative coverage schemes. You can bet that Rex Ryan won't get distracted by the few big stars and will keep in mind the big picture of the Saints multi-faceted offense. I'd be shocked if the Jets shut down the Chargers passing game like they did the Texans, Saints and Pats in week 3, but I expect them to at least contain them and keep them from completely running wild.

On the other side of the ball, the Jets have the #1 rushing offense and a punishing offensive line, and the Chargers have the 20th ranked rush defense and a pretty beat up defensive front. Unless the Chargers are able to step it up really big, I don't see them being able to get the Jets off the field quickly.

The keys to the game will be whether or not the Mark Sanchez turns the ball over and can at least complete short-mid range passes and move the chains, and whether or not the Jets can at least keep the lid on the Chargers passing attack.
