That would be a great move for Arizona if they can get the Stealers to cooperate. But they've proven this offseason when it comes to their established stars that they're full of prunes. So they'll use and abuse Alan Faneca, who is one of the best linemen in the league, and then Joey Porter him by letting him walk. If LEONARD DAVIS, a player who's a huge bust, and Derrick Dockery, a player who is average at best, can get $50 million contracts, why cant this outstanding player be rewarded? As far as LaVar Arrington, LEAVE HIM ALONE! His talent has declined and I'd stay far away from him as possible. I wouldnt start Branch right away. At times in college, he took plays off and seemed uninspired. Give him a lot of playing time so he can adjust to the NFL. By mid season if he's ready then start him. Someone the Cardinals should consider signing to move to the 3-4 defensive scheme if he's healthy is Al Wilson, former Denver Broncos linebacker.

Well the Steelers most likely are punishing Alan Faneca for the way that he is acting. Plus the fact that he is a key piece to their offensive line makes it less likely that the Steelers would be willing to trade him. As for the Arizona Cardinals they need as much helps as possible just about all over the board particularly the defensive side of the ball as well as an offensive line to protect Matt Leinart and open up holes for Edgerrin James.

No flipping way on LaVar Arrington, he's injured every year, you don't want to waste money on that. It's was so funny, I live in Redskins' territory, and they were all crying "Why did we get rid of LaVar?" Then when he got injured, they all said, "Oh, yeah."

And on the Faneca deal, on a message board, someone said we should make him play this year, franchise him next year, then trade him to the Raiders. He needs to suck it up and keep his emotions in check.

Cheers!

lavar arrington is done. if the giants who have no depth at lb are cutting him you know its bad. i agree with the move on faneca though. he will help their offensive line tremendously. with rookie levi brown and alan faneca on the line they should be able to have a very dominant offense.

if they don't trade for him this year, rumor has it that he wants to go there once his contract is up anyway because of wisenhunt and grimm

We all have dreams man. The Steelers won't part with Faneca, the Cards need that pick to blow it on another defensive lineman. I think that it would be fantastic if they could pull it off, but no way Pittsburgh lets go of him.

If the Steelers are willing they should trade. Arrington I would try for league minumum if I was running any team. The 3-4 they should use once in awile I like the idea of mixing it up.

i doubt it, a 1st rounder is wished, and their backfield is already sturdy, and a 2d round %. next season?? nah thats no longer gonna cut back it, i imagine carolina needs a participant like Robert ayers (yet i doubt it) who can pass the rusher yet as a rule stop the run in a divsion the position they opt to run the ball.

i dunno....i think the steelers should at least try to get some value out of him...or they will do what the Bears did and slap the tag on him and make him sit....
