There's a shirt that was made poking fun at Brett Favre saying "We'll never forget you Brent", and Brent isn't a typo... how is that poking fun at him?

I don't really get it.

Here's the article about it on MSN Fox Sports:

Also, his last name, I've asked so many people and nobody knows-
why is it pronounced "Farve" when it's spelled "Favre", with the 'V' before the 'R'?

It's poking fun as it's saying "We'll never forget you"; yet it already has his name wrong (it's Brett, not Brent).

Try to look at it sarcastically. You'll get it.

As for his last name; I guess it's French.

I've thought about this myself, and this how I think about it. There are many people you meet in life that are acquaintances that you may meet at a party perhaps or know for a week because there visiting, or meet at work and you eat lunch with them but don't keep in touch after you leave, etc. These are the kind of relationships that you might not remember after many many years. I think that when someone comes into your life and makes a mark on your heart for whatever reason, it may be hard to express in words the how important they are to you. You may not be able to fully express what your feeling even if you had all the time in the world to say goodbye. As flimsy as "I'll never forget you" may sound, I think it, like the phrase "You'll always be in my heart" It's the best you've got in words but, at the very least you want to let them know you care. It's more about reaching out over time and space than telling someone "yeah I put you on my list of thing to remember." Hope this helps.

Brent Fullwood was drafted for the Packers in 1987. He was a huge star, just like Brett Favre. Fullwood lead the team to the Pro Bowl as a running back. In 1992, he left the Packers just like Brett Favre. The shirt is like a double-play type of thing. It's featuring 2 stars.

(Brett just signed for the Vikings. He ditched the Packers, ran to the Jets. Basically he left the Packers.)

FAVRE! it's pronounced far-v or farve. He's from Mississippi. His name is just spelled oddly.

I assume that since it's from Wisconsin and it's yellow and green, it's for Packers fans to say that they actually have forgot him. Normally I would say it's a bit of a cheap shot but I am so sick of Favre, I could care less.

The shirt is making fun of him. They say, 'We'll never forget you', yet they have already forgotten how to spell his name!

Kind of funny, unless youre a Packers fan *growl*

And as for the name fronunciation, it probabaly has to to with his ancestry or something. Maybe he's sweedish. Or maybe he hails from the planet 'Beastliness' where all the beasts come from...

Jow already mentioned it. They are making fun of him. They say they'll never forget him, yet they have already forgotten his name.

As ANOTHER user already said, it's French.
