KC Chiefs fans,

Several sports media outlets are announcing that Kansas City is rumored to be releasing 8-yr pro Matt Cassel.

Q 1. Is this Matt's release request or simply KC's efforts to clear away Cassel's salary (last '12-'13 $7,575,000) and potentially sign Alex Smith?

Q 2. Will Cassel be a starter anywhere else IF released?

Q 3. YOUR predictions on KC's QB dilemma?

Q1: The Chiefs want to get rid of Cassel and sign Smith. Cassel's career in KC has sucked. Smith has improved a lot with Jim Harbaugh (a former starting NFL quarterback) as head coach. There's no outstanding rookie QB's in the draft, so Smith makes more sense to grab, allowing the Chiefs to still grab a guy like Joeckel.

Q2: No. He's simpley not good enough to be a starter.

Q3: The Chiefs make Smith the starter, release Cassel, probably keep Brady Quinn and maybe pick up a rookie QB later in the draft if they decide they don't want to go with Quinn as the backup or to have a descent 3rd QB.

Q1: I think that Matt Cassel is getting replaced no matter what. So what would be the point of a backup THAT expensive. It's the same reason why the 49ers dont want Smith.

Q2. I doubt he will be. If he isnt a good enough starter for the CHIEFS, he will probably just retire or be a backup for another team.

Q3. I'm pretty sure that the 49ers are trading Alex Smith to the Chiefs for a later round draft pick. Then, Cassel will be dropped to be either signed on another team or retire.

Q1) It's a move to clear Cassel's salary

Q2) Not unless the starter gets injured wherever he ends up

Q3) My prediction is that the Chiefs trade for Alex Smith, draft a QB in the 2nd round, both stink out loud and they end up with the same QB dilemma in 2015.

Q1. I think that this is Matt's request because if I were the Cheif's GM I would be focused on drafting Geno Smith and having him start over Cassel.

Q2. There is a possibility that Cassel could start in Jacksonville and maybe Cleveland but I highly doubt that will start anywhere and he probably wont even be signed in free agency.

Q3. Cheifs will draft Geno Smith and he will start.

I even have no reference different than my few years of taking be responsive to the NFL... I doubt New England gave up 2 game enthusiasts for below a 2d around %., thirty 5th primary? The Patriots did have some reasons to do away with Cassel and Vrabel in spite of the easy actuality that. NE does no longer prefer Cassel is they have a healthy Brady and franchise tags are quite bothersome to game enthusiasts and communities. Vrabel isn't the youngest linebacker and understand-how NE they probable have a decrease back-up plan. Cap room is a extensive situation in spite of the easy actuality that, that substitute into fairly a component. Kansas city would be paying extra useful than basically a 2d around %., in lots of circumstances circumstances communities will basically withhold all guidance from the commerce.
